Alright first on the list: Jurassic World!
Well this one everyone called great, but here's some stuff that I saw. First SO many shots where or atleast seemed to be copy&pasted from Jurassic Park films. I mean seriously? Did they not think I wouldn't notice that,
A: the brainiac child who knows all the dinosaurs is also somehow given all access and this is put in danger, just like the first and ORIGINALS Jurassic Park.
B: When the boys go "exploring" they unfortunately meet the insane killer dino that just so happens to be the most deadly thing I the park. So of course what do we get? Well an abligatory scene VERY similar to the one that we ALL saw in the first Jurassic Park, yes I'm talking about the T-Rex getting through the fence then attacking the jeeps, and at one point the angry predator introduces itself to the children through a "bullet proof" glass that the children are some how able to barely escape... Similarly when the psycho-Saurus attacks the Jimmy Kimmel sphere, the boys somehow are able to just barely squeak out while somehow a dinosaur that is smart enough to outwit the humans who trapped it, is destracted.
Next C: Ok if anything this bit may be a little bit picky. But WHY on earth did we need so many blatant references to Jurassic Park? I mean seriously it was funny when the one computer nerd was wearing a Jurassic park t-shirt, but then we have to find the old bunker, and drive an old jeep, just because "heeey buddy, remember the old movies? Yeah that's why your here!" Well guess what? NO, just no Hollywood! You cannot tell me how you expect to completely reboot the series, and maybe even plan and sign Chris Pratt to a second movie, but yet you want to still drag the movie through the old memories? Just no, if I wanted to see more Jurassic Park, I would have watched it again instead of paying atleast $10 a ticket for an updated version of Jurassic Park, that's like paying $59.99 every year for stupid sports games that are just an updated roster.
Alright enough ranting about reboots.
Exhibit D: Lastly lets just kinda generally talk about Velociraptors. Ok seriously we all remember the AMAZING kitchen scene when the raptors terrify the original kids and somehow the kids then escape, further more in the THIRD film that we honestly all could have forgotten, an amazing shot features the raptors stalking through a massive grass field, in which the hunters have NO IDEA, what type of gruesome end awaits in only seconds. So of course, Jurassic duplicate, finds a way to have the "trained" raptors turn on the humans after they incounter the main alpha predator. I mean seriously? It still worked out relatively well, but really in this case it just seemed dumb, I mean the hunters in Jurassic World were FAR superior to the third film, so how could they not handle LESS raptors? Anyway, I'm not even sure why they went with the raptors in that case either, seriously? Do they not have previous knowledge of the past movies where raptors have absolutely dessimated the park? Why would your release them just to hunt one evil dinosaur? Why not just breed a new one that won't eat people to fight the bad one? Oh well maybe that's what the sequel is?
Anyway, there's just a quick review/things I kinda nit-picked, but there was many other things that I saw but I won't waste your or my time involving in this one. However, this movie was overall GREAT. Chris Pratt was AMAZING in his role. Also even though they copied a lot from the past movies it was worth it. This movie REINVIGORATED interest in dinosaurs, but also it just filled a void as well. It did magnificently in the box office, and so it accomplished its overall goal. But it may have stepped on some toes while doing so.
First off, this "review" may seem extremely critical. Please note I thought Jurassic World actually was pretty good. But this is a review that WILL NOT exactly focus on the good. Of course not all summer blockbusters will be here, or at least till I see them or find someone else to enter a review.
