Everyone was excited for windows 10. I'll even admit it sounded great, but then I updated and saw wait a minute, I've been bamboozled. Here are some ways that it is so.
Number One: The display.
Alright so windows proclaimed that they would bring a new amazing, sharp, and relevant interface. However what they fail to mention, is that if you run it on a custom built PC,you'll find that your previous display settings may be overridden by Windows. Meaning? If you had a 1920x1080 display on windows 8.1, you'll most likely have to run a 1280x900ish. Hopefully you kept the driver disks. Because in those cases, you'll most likely have to reinstall ALL of you drivers, including GPU, CPU, and monitor. And really why take that amount of time when you could just stay on windows 8.1?
Ok another issue I have with Windows 10 is the new windows edge.
I'm sorry but in the case of a web browser, edge doesn't cut it. Don't be in a hurry to update, especially on an older device, because from my experience it's slow. The time for pages to load is surprisingly long. Further more this seems like another one of microsofts soon to fail attempts at gaining ground in the social networking category. A forced start page, which throws a Microsoft heavy news feed just screams look at me! I'm important! I'm hip! Yeah no. I'm sorry but the "customization" isn't really there either, this interface is just hype. Nothing is really all that new, and honestly doesn't impress me. Sorry windows, but you can keep your free upgrade, I'll run windows 8.1, because this new OS, is built for laptops, and tablets, not desktops.
